Solving the Crisis of Failing Wood
The Adelmann property previously featured a composite surface, yet the structure beneath told a different story. An aging wood frame had begun to fail, compromising safety. Solid Ground removed the existing build to start fresh with a foundation designed for permanence.
- Strategic Expansion: Beyond simply replacing the frame, the footprint grew by 125 square feet. Increasing depth and length provided more usable area while improving flow into the yard.
- Ledger Safety Standards: Following updated IRC guidelines, Solid Ground eliminated wood-on-wood connections at the ledger. Utilizing New Castle Steel and high-performance flashing prevents water infiltration and rot, protecting the home from structural damage.
- Foundation Stability: American Ground Screws provide a deep, frost-proof foundation that bypasses the inconsistencies of poured concrete.
Aesthetic Precision and Ambiance
Materials provide a sophisticated finish that maintains performance in the varied Missouri climate.
Multi-Tonal Surface Design
Layout features Deckorators Voyage decking in Sedona, accented by a Khaya picture frame. Mineral-based composite offers a slip-resistant finish that remains stable underfoot. The picture frame detail continues down the staircase, providing a consistent, high-end reveal.
Integrated Atmosphere
Backyard lighting was lacking in previous iterations. To resolve a dark environment, Solid Ground installed a Regal Ideas railing system with integrated down-firing lights.
- Soft Radiance: Rail lighting provides a glow without the glare common in traditional fixtures.
- Navigational Safety: Riser lights on the staircase illuminate the path to the yard, combining evening aesthetics with secure footing.
